KATHY TEJADA Executive Producer

Born in New York from Puerto Rican parents, Kathy Tejada is the Executive Producer of Teatro TEBA and has been an active member of the company since 1994. She is an actress, educator and writer.

We have seen Ms. Tejada in LATE, Actores Unidos, Inaru and Ollantay Productions. But, her special bond with Teatro TEBA as made her one of the most exclusive artists of the company. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Boletín Teatral and The Blue Page. Kathy also coordinated all the specialized workshops and master classes.

Kathy was selected among the most popular actresses of the '90s by Pedalito's survey for Impacto Newspaper.  Among her credits are "Dos Fridas, dos Diegos", (ACE Award nomination Best Character Actress); "The Book of Buen Amor" (ACE Award nomination Best Supporting Actress), "La última poesía del continente" (ACE Award for Best Supporting Actress), "El señor presidente" (ACE nomination for Best Supporting Actress), "Malasangre-Episodio 1" (ACE nomination for Best Co-Lead Actress), "Two Gentlemen of Verona", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Joan of Arc Under Fire", "La brujita verde", "1898", "Ataque de Nervios", "A Solid Home" and "Flamenco Twist".

As an executive producer, Kathy has taken Teatro TEBA to the International NYC Fringe Festival, The Lower Eastside Festival of the Arts, The International Festival at Old Westbury College and The Multicultural Festival of Northrop Grumman. In 2004 Kathy received an ACE nomination as an Executive Producer for "Cinema Uttopia" as Best Drama Production of the year.

Kathy is honored to be an important part of the only Latino experimental, avant-garde and bilingual touring company in Kings County and winner of the prestigious OBIE Award.
