TEBA PRESENTS CASONA

From June 25th  to July 3rd, Teatro TEBA premieres “La barca sin pescador”, one of the masterpieces of Spanish contemporary theater by Alejandro Casona, directed by Héctor Luis Rivera at TEBA @ Impact Theater, 190 Underhill Avenue in Brooklyn.  Performances are Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM.  Tickets $10.00.  All performances are in Spanish.  Information and reservations at (718) 628-3880.

Alejandro Casona is one of the masters of contemporary theater, and one of the distinguished group of Spanish intellectuals whose enforced exile has enriched us all with a new demonstration of the great human and aesthetic values of the ancient, but ever vital culture of Spain.  One of his most attractive works is “La barca sin pescador”, an intriguing narrative embedded with statements about morality, sin, and the redemptive power of love and guilt.  In “La barca sin pescador” we track the life of a man who wills a murder to save his dying company, and then travels far to repay the murdered man’s family, learning lessons about life as he is transformed into a new man.

The cast of well known actors from Latino New York Theater includes Carlos Rodríguez, Susana Crisan, Ivanna Ivanna, Héctor Luis Rivera, Martha Alzate, Ernesto López and introducing Tanzina Vega and Roberto Larancuent, among others.

Teatro TEBA, now in its 17th season, is the only bilingual, experimental and avantgarde Latino theater company of Kings County.  TEBA, an OBIE grant winning company, has brought the best of Latin American underground theater throughout New York’s five boroughs.
